Technically imperfect and I don’t mind one bit because when my littlest saw it he immediately said “Brother loves Daddy!” and that is why I do what I do.

I went to a birthday party last night. Not just any birthday party; a beautiful party for an extraordinary little girl. “Ky” is the youngest daughter of photographers Amber and Troy Schmidt of Lexington.
Meet Kyleigh Schmidt (click for Ky’s amazing story) …

(That is pretty much the face I got from her all night. I think she is no longer impressed by big honking cameras!)

The party was decorated in a beautiful pink and green theme. Flower arrangements by Amber & her mom:

There were enormous balloons… a big hit with the older brothers!

Dad Troy performed the essential functions of Chocolate Fondue Maker…

(note the surgical gloves!)
… and Guardian of the Cake.

(note the flowered pink fly swatter!)
The CAKE. I will be dreaming about this cake for years! Made by Brenda at the Sugar Forest, it was as delicious as it was beautiful!

The evening closed with a beautiful slideshow of images of Kyleigh’s life journey…

(I spy Dr. Joe!)
… while family and friends looked on.

Happy Birthday, Sweet Princess. We are wishing you a year of health and filled with love.
Running in the sprinkler and shaking like a dog. I loved these so much I made a blog header out of them!

Friend, singer/songwriter, and kitten pusher (kitty boy is settling in just fine, Cheryl!) Cheryl Clarke opened up for Louisville’s Andrea Davidson at JoeyG’s nightclub and restaurant on June 21. Here are a few pics of the evening…
